Suffering from Vegan Sadness- Take your vitamins !!
A new study suggests that Vegetarians (and especially Vegans) might be at risk of depression due to diets low in some essential vitamins, minerals and fatty acids that are necessary for optimum neurological function. And it seems taking Vitamin B6, B12 and folic acid supplements reduced the incidence of depression by up to 50%. But don't worry, you don't have to resort to drastically changing your food preferences. Many US foods, including breakfast cereals are fortified with B6, B12 and folic acid. And taking a multivitamin might help. I am already craving for a Tofu turkey. Is it Thanksgiving yet ??
